Hi, I’m Mukerem

Hi, I'm Mukerem! I'm a Computer Science senior who loves building smart, production-grade AI and web applications. Whether architecting conversational AI platforms, crafting gamified web experiences, or mentoring student developers as Coding Club Tech Lead, I focus on creating tech that drives real engagement. Outside of Python and TypeScript, you'll usually find me experimenting with modern AI agents and cloud architectures.

Education

  • Aug 2023 — Present · Ras al-Khaimah, UAE

My undergraduate degree. The coursework is what sits underneath the Java, Python, and database work elsewhere on this site, and I spent two semesters of it teaching the object-oriented programming course.

    • Expected to graduate in July 2027.
  • Sep 2019 — Jun 2022

    High School Diploma

    Robe Secondary School

Secondary school in Ethiopia, finished as valedictorian of my class. It is where the maths that keeps turning up in the algorithms coursework actually got taught.

    • Graduated with a final grade of 93.1 percent.

How I work

I like to start from the constraint rather than the feature list. Permissions, migrations, partial failure, and the awkward second environment are the parts that quietly decide what a system can become, and I have learned the hard way that retrofitting them means rewriting all the parts that were fun to build.

I would honestly rather maintain something than ship it and walk away. Four of the projects here are still in progress, and most of what I believe about any of their first designs came out of having to change them later.

Accessibility and clarity are product requirements to me, not a pass at the end. Keyboard paths, focus order, contrast, and how a thing behaves at 320 pixels get decided while I am writing the component, because that is the only moment they are cheap.

Outside engineering

I watch a lot of mystery and thriller films, and I follow soccer more closely than is strictly reasonable. I walk further than I need to. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and I love finding out how things work underneath the abstraction. That last one is arguably still engineering.

The tools I actually use, and what I am focused on right now, live on the skills page.

Tell me what you are building.

I read everything that arrives. If you are hiring, scoping a project, or stuck on a multi-tenancy or LLM integration problem, a few sentences about the constraint is enough to start a useful conversation.
